Event Details
Following concerns from the FCA that many EMIs and PIs within the payments industry showed inadequate risk and compliance programmes, Project Financial Crime have been keen to support the ability of members of The Payments Association to comply with legislation, by providing guidance and defining where and how technology can help.
Through this open mic event, Jane Jee, leader of The Payments Association's Project Financial Crime will be moderating a discussion between Samanthan Sheen, a financial crime and compliance expert, and a small group of members of The Payments Association. The event will include a fireside chat followed by an interactive discussion where members of the audience can ask Jane and Samantha questions directly.
The objective of this open mic event is to explore questions such as:
How should regulated SMEs set up ML/TF policies and procedures?
What are some of the most common mistakes made when it comes to compliance?
What are the risks of failing to comply?
What are key questions to ask when choosing technology partners or outsourced service providers?
Tips on how to mitigate reputational risks and regulatory risks, including financial penalties.
We believe several members, particularly those who work in risk and compliance for SMEs, who are looking to improve their AML programmes, will find this session valuable.
This session is not intended to provide legal advice and we strongly recommend that you obtain your own legal advice which can take account of your business circumstances
